Shiara has shown her strengths and commitment to Cal Poly Humboldt through her employment at both the Social Justice, Equity, and Inclusion Center (SJEIC) and the Center for Community Based Learning (CCBL). As a staff writer, editor, and Communications Coordinator for Redwood Roots Digital Magazine, Shiara has streamlined many processes for social media outreach and continuously takes initiative to make the magazine more inclusive.

Through her job with the SJEIC, Shiara does exceptional work and plays a huge role with the HSQ Cast (podcast for our LGBTQIA+ community), Q-Grad ceremony, Social Justice Summit, and Community Dialogue on Race, and many other projects.

She exemplifies strong leadership skills through her dependability, competence, and ethical decision making. Her compassionate commitment to equity, justice, and inclusion shines through in all that she does. Shiara's positive impact will ripple outward for the better for all those who attend and work at Humboldt for many years to come. Congratulations Shiara!
